Sustainability: 1 concrete journey, between new milestones and established commitments

For Ecopack, sustainability is a journey that, over time, involves products, processes, people and the supply chain. It is a journey made up of objectives, measurement tools and concrete actions, and today it is enriched by important new milestones.

The publication of the Sustainability Report and the achievement of ISO 14001 certification are two significant steps in this direction. They are joined by participation in FSC® Forest Week 2026, which renews a commitment that is already part of the company culture and which Ecopack has chosen to share again this year.

The Sustainability Report: reporting to keep improving

The publication of the Sustainability Report is an important moment of transparency and sharing with all stakeholders for Ecopack.

The document gathers and describes the company’s journey in the environmental, social and governance areas, highlighting the initiatives undertaken, the results achieved and the objectives it will continue to work on.

For a manufacturing company, reporting on sustainability means above all measuring its impact in concrete terms and identifying the areas where action can be taken.

Energy, resources, waste management, the supply chain and attention to people are therefore part of a journey that does not end with the publication of the document, but finds in the Report a tool for monitoring progress and guiding future activities.

Supply chain management is among the topics addressed. Ecopack has in fact introduced an ESG assessment system for its strategic suppliers, integrating environmental, social and ethical criteria into its qualification and monitoring processes.

ISO 14001: sustainability becomes part of processes

Another important step is the achievement of ISO 14001 certification.

The international ISO 14001 standard sets out the requirements for an environmental management system and enables organisations to adopt a structured approach to identifying, managing and monitoring the environmental aspects of their activities.

For Ecopack, the certification means further consolidating a way of working focused on continuous improvement.

Attention to the environment is thus integrated in an increasingly structured way into company processes, through the monitoring of activities, the setting of objectives and the identification of opportunities for improvement.

This approach is consistent with the very nature of the company: as a manufacturer of paper-based solutions for the food industry, Ecopack works every day to combine the performance and safety requirements of packaging with a growing focus on resource efficiency and environmental impact.

FSC®: an established commitment

The sustainability of raw materials has long been an important element for Ecopack.

The paper used for its products is FSC® certified, a choice that ensures the traceability of the raw material through the chain of custody and supports the responsible management of forest resources.

This is therefore not something new, but a commitment already well established within Ecopack’s offering.

FSC® certification is part of the attention the company devotes to its supply chain and raw materials, giving customers the opportunity to choose products made from paper sourced from a certified supply chain.

It is precisely on the basis of this existing commitment that Ecopack chose to take part in FSC® Forest Week again in 2026.

Ecopack at FSC® Forest Week 2026

From 21 to 27 September 2026, FSC® Forest Week took place: the international campaign dedicated to raising awareness of the value of forests and the importance of managing them responsibly.

Ecopack took part in the initiative again this year, having already joined the campaign in 2025.

Participation in Forest Week is therefore the natural continuation of a commitment that Ecopack pursues every day through the use of FSC®-certified paper.

The theme of the 2026 campaign, “Do One Thing for Forests”, invites companies and individuals to take a concrete action for forests and to help spread greater awareness of their value.

For Ecopack, taking part means giving visibility to a choice already embedded in the way it operates and reaffirming the importance of responsible management of forest resources along the supply chain.

From certification to continuous improvement

The Sustainability Report, ISO 14001 and FSC® tell different aspects of the same journey.

The Report makes it possible to report on and share performance and objectives. ISO 14001 brings environmental management into a structured system. FSC® certification, meanwhile, helps guarantee the traceability of forest raw materials.

They are different but complementary tools that help Ecopack make its approach to sustainability ever more concrete.

Alongside these are research and development activities dedicated to paper-based solutions, a focus on the efficiency of production processes, and work on the recyclability and compostability of its products.

The point, therefore, is not to reach a final destination, but to keep improving.

For Ecopack, sustainability means integrating these principles into the way it designs, produces and collaborates with customers and partners, while keeping the needs of the food industry at the centre: quality, safety, performance and care for the environment.
