Ecopack is a company that is the result of a long family journey, and the starting point of future developments in the search for the finest solutions in the food packaging sector.
A path spanning three generations
1939
Between WWI and WWII, Salvatore Ferri takes the first steps in building an 80-year family history. He founds the company as S. Ferri & C. S.a.s.
1947
The attitude towards invention and problem-solving was clear from the start: to make up for the shortage of waffle ice cream cones during the War, the company patents a paper cup for ice cream..
1961
Luigi Ferri, Salvatore's son, enters the company, further strengthening its familiar identity. Thanks to his intuitions, Ecopack would become a international company.
1965
The first big challenges: the increase in consumption during the economic boom and Luigi’s flair for finding industrial solutions stimulate demand by important clients in the business. He creates a machine capable of mass producing millions of paper doilies. The production of panettone moulds for large Italian customers begins.
1977
Today it is called take-away, back then it was called Conchiglia (shell). A patent translated into 4 languages and well ahead of its time.
1985
The business’ capability and technical know-how come to a turning point: the realisation of a machine able to industrially produce the most famous paper cups in the world.
1988
Luigi’s children, Annalisa and Francesco Ferri join the business. The company name becomes Ecopack, as it is known today.
2002
The demand to bring back a handmade aesthetic pairs well with the demand for more sustainable materials. This is how the pie mould was born: an innovative paper baking mould to replace aluminum ones.
2006-2013
The big Ecopack family crosses borders: along with the historical Italian headquarters, the company opens production plants in Brazil, Canada, India, Russia, and Tunisia.
2020's
The search for low-carbon footprint solutions is growingly necessary. The company launches its first-ever compostable products and prepares to take on new challenges.
