Coppa del Mondo del Panettone: what it is
The Coppa del Mondo del Panettone is an international competition entirely dedicated to the ultimate leavened pastry: the Panettone. It was created to celebrate the history and craftsmanship of this iconic product, which has crossed its country of origin to make its mark on the global pastry scene.
The event takes place every two years, alternating with national selection events held in various countries, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, Peru, and Portugal.
The competition is chaired by Maestro Giuseppe Piffaretti, who is supported by some of the greatest professionals in the world of haute pastry, including Iginio Massari, Gianbattista Montanari, Pierpaolo Magni, Andrea Besuschio, Angelo Musolino, Biagio Settepani, Gastone Pegoraro, Carlos Mariel, Franck Collas, Rogerio Shimura, Juan Carlos Lopez, and Juan Pablo Colubri.

5th edition of the Coppa del Mondo del Panettone
The final of the fifth edition will be held in November 2026 in Milan. National selections are currently underway to determine the finalists who will compete in Milan for the title of winner of the 2026 Coppa del Mondo del Panettone.
On October 24, the French selection took place at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris. On this day, the winners of the French selection were announced for the two competing categories: Traditional Panettone and Chocolate Panettone. The winners were Daisuke Fukuda from La Carioca Boulangerie for Traditional Panettone, and Olivier Krieg from Boulangerie L’enfariné for Chocolate Panettone.
Continuing with the selections, the Swiss selection was held on November 3 in Lausanne at the EHL Campus. During this event, Stefano Gobbi was awarded as the winner of the Classic Panettone category, and Andrea Giacomini for the Chocolate Panettone category.

And after the Swiss selection, we landed in Spain! On November 21, the Spanish selection took place in Madrid at the IES Hotel Escuela de la Comunidad de Madrid. On this occasion, the master pastry chefs who will represent their country were awarded: Toni Vera for Traditional Panettone and Miguel Angel Castro Garcia for Chocolate Panettone.
In 2026, the selections will continue in preparation for the November final. The upcoming selections will be held in Italy, Peru, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia.
The best is yet to come
We can’t wait to discover the winners of the upcoming national selections and to meet the pastry chef who will claim the podium in the 5th edition of the Coppa del Mondo del Panettone!
