Reducing Waste and Energy Self-Sufficiency: the success of Ecopack

While global attention is increasingly focused on the importance of reducing environmental impact, at Ecopack we are proving that it is possible to achieve significant results through concrete actions.

In 2023, in this article, we set a goal to reduce our waste by 50%: after a series of improvements and actions implemented over 10 months, we ended the year with a 54% reduction in municipal waste compared to 2022.

But the progress does not stop there.

The 2024 targets: Municipal waste

Thanks to an ongoing commitment to sustainability, we improved our performance in the first quarter of 2024, further reducing waste and achieving a 56% reduction compared to the same period in 2023.
This result allows us to give ourselves an even more ambitious target for 2024: an overall reduction of 15% compared to the previous year.

Energy self-sufficiency

Ecopack is not just about improving municipal waste management, but has also taken a proactive approach to sustainable energy: in 2023, 21% of the company’s electricity needs were produced by the photovoltaic plant.

For 2024, we have even higher ambitions: with the help of a new ground-mounted plant, the company aims to self-produce 28% of its total electricity needs by the end of the year.

This will represent a further step towards energy self-sufficiency and a significant reduction in carbon emissions.
These results reflect a tangible commitment to sustainability: Ecopack is committed to continuing to adopt increasingly sustainable practices, thus contributing to a better future for all.
